BUSY LIKE SUNDAY MORNING E-mail

Tropically hot weather AND Sunday combined usually result in a day spent in an air-conditioned shade of one’s own apartment and refusal to dare to step out to the street before 10 PM. Not that there is anything wrong with diet of gallons of ice-cold lemonade (heat kills your appetite) and all day movie watching (or, in my case, watching all episodes of freshly downloaded Dr. Katz TV series), especially not in surfing travel agencies’ web pages in search for a perfect beach, but how about seizing this hot and melting day instead of simply enduring it?

It was actually not morning but the Sunday afternoon, but fresh fruits, smell of coffee and retro beats played by Sestre inzenjerke (“Engineer Sisters”) on “20/44” floater made one feel that the heat and fuss of the day up to that point had been just a bad dream. One does not really need a reason to decide to spend an afternoon on “20/44”, but on this occasion there was one: “Engineer Sisters in Search of Fashion “ event, that combined the mentioned DJ set with sale of clothes from Pull My Daisy vintage shop, flip flops from now (alas) closed Kokliko store and “Fish and Toad” cotton underwear.

Where else can you try on vintage with a spectacular view on a city center across the river that slowly rocks the floater, as the sun slowly changes color to orange, breeze on your face, gin tonic in your hand?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I dare to say: only in Belgrade.
