I can’t even count the number of times this has happened to me: I am invited to a birthday. I forget about the birthday. The actual birthday approaches and I remember it a few hours before I am intended to be there. It is already late evening, most often weekend. I hardly have time to put some clothes and make up on and to make it on time (which in my case means not more than an hour late), and of course- then I remember- I don’t have a birthday present! Panic!!! And then, a long sigh of relief. Supermarket, with its huge designer gifts area and working hours until 2 AM comes in rescue.

It has been two years since Supermarket concept store has opened in Visnjiceva Street, offering not only salvation from embarrassment of coming to one’s birthday party without a proper present, but also the racks filled with selected local fashion designers, summer garden with one of the best Mojitos in town, Sunday jazz brunch in the restaurant run by Dutch chef Sem Veldheer , sushi bar, bookstore, beauty lounge & spa, flower shop selling designer bouquets by Dragana Ognjenovic and, of course, their hot chocolate that doubles as dinner.
